Letter from our president
While writing this letter I came to realize this is not my first president’s letter! ( which would explain my few gray hairs!)
As you know, our fundraisers permit us to offer our members (big and small) well organized competitions, incredible year end prizes etc… This year with the recession, we were worried. For our survival, we could have cut down on our prizes like many associations had to do. But no, we decided to take matters into our own hands and try to offer spectacular prizes again. It would have been deceiving for a winner to receive a smaller prize.
Often we question our reason for being a director. It takes a lot of time and energy. It may sound selfish but we wonder, is it voluntary or simply crazy, who are we doing this for, is anyone out there appreciating it?
In 2011 we had a chocolate fundraiser. I got the chance to witness something exceptional. Almost all our young members answered our call and left with their box of chocolates, proud to help out their association. It really warmed my heart.
And answered my question; this is why we do it!
On top of it, a lot of members helped us during our bowling night and spaghetti supper.
A big thank you to all the members who supported us and to our helpers. It is thanks to you that the evenings were so successful.
To all the members who participated in our Tupperware fundraiser, thank you!
Congratulations to our riders and family who lived the Oklahoma experience! I can personally tell you it was quite an adventure!
Our new and improved website www.aerwso.com is now online - where you can find all the news and updates. A big thank you to Caroline Leblanc and Tina Calvarese
I would like to thank all our directors for the efforts which they’ve provided to make AERWSO such a success. Without them, there would be no club. And to all our faithful members, your association hopes to see all of you in 2011.
